Meet the team

To help showcase what it is like to work at Hampden & Co we thought it would be helpful to share why some of our people chose to work here, and what they do day-to-day. While we are based in Edinburgh and London, we have recruited people from across the UK and beyond, seeking out those who share our vision of a having a passion for providing exceptional service. Christina Koumourzi - HR Advisor

"I joined Hampden & Co, as I was keen to work for a fast-paced, rapidly expanding business that was still small enough to have a “family” feel to the working environment. In my role in HR I work with all areas of the business, collaborating with people at every level in the organisation. My main responsibilities are to manage and enhance our HR systems and processes, and to support the running of the bank in areas such as the administration of payroll, sourcing and evaluating training providers, and managing recruitment enquiries.

I find my role fulfilling, as the support that HR offers the rest of the bank contributes to providing our clients with exceptional service in many ways including through the sharing of ‘best practice’, and ensuring that administrative elements of our processes are streamlined.

"I was attracted to working at Hampden & Co as I wanted to start my career in a new and ‘up and coming’ business, where I could take on a much wider range of responsibilities than I would have had at a larger organisation. 

As a Banking Operations Administrator, I help our banking team provide clients with exceptional service in a number of different ways. That could be helping make domestic or international payments, or supporting the everyday banking needs of clients who invest in underwriting at Lloyd’s. Beyond the banking team, I also work with our Treasury, Finance, Credit and Compliance functions, so no two days are ever the same.

The support I get from the bank is great, and Hampden & Co are helping me get my Chartered Banking qualifications. In addition to this the visibility I get of the different teams within the bank provides me with plenty of food for thought on where to take my career."

I also appreciated the fact that Hampden & Co were wanting to recruit professional and experienced bankers, who were then trusted to manage client relationships on an individual basis, rather than following a more codified approach.

As an Assistant Banking Manager I support David Bell, one of our Banking Directors, helping him with his clients on a day-to-day basis, which can involve anything from helping them to open accounts to making payments.
